EPG is one of those features you don't think about until it's missing. Here's what it does and why it's worth checking for.
The basics
EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is schedule data showing what's currently playing on each channel and what's coming up over the next hours or days. Most IPTV player apps display it as a grid, similar to the guide on a cable box.
Why it's useful
- Lets you browse what's on without switching channels one by one
- Shows upcoming programs so you can plan ahead
- Makes a large channel list actually navigable
Why EPG data can be incomplete
EPG data is sourced separately from the video streams themselves, so guide information for some channels may be limited or delayed. This is normal across IPTV services generally and isn't a sign of a broken subscription.
